The Azerbaijani armed forces used artillery and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to attack Nagorno Karabakh capital Stepanakert, Russian war correspondent Yuriy Kotenok wrote on October 23 on his Telegram-channel.

“Right now, Azerbaijani armed forces using artillery and MLRS to strike against Stepanakert. Over 10 explosions. The enemy continues to strike,” said Kotenok.

RT war correspondent Igor Zhdanov, who is in Nagorno Karabakh, confirmed this information, “Civil defense sirens are heard in Stepanakert. For the first time after a week of lull … More than 10 explosions in Stepanakert right now.”

The hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh began on September 27. The Armenian Defense Ministry informed about the shelling of peaceful towns and villages in Nagorno-Karabakh by the Azerbaijani army, and a few hours later Azerbaijan launched a full-scale offensive along the contact line.

As of October 16, 36 civilians had died as a result of shelling since the beginning of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
