The Ukrainian military opened fire on the village of Kalinovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) using weaponry prohibited by the Minsk agreements, a LPR representative at Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire (JCCCC) informed.
The representative informed that at 6.40 am, the Ukrainian troops from their positions in Luganskoye village fired 11 120mm mortar shells and 9 RPG-7 grenades on the village of Kalinovka.
The representative said that there were no casualties among the residents of the settlement or the servicemen of the LPR People’s Militia. The buildings and infrastructure of the settlement were not damaged. At the enemy’s positions, the journalists from pro-governmental publications, who collected the data to discredit People’s Militia servicemen, were noticed.
The press service of the LPR People’s Militia said that the military of the 1st Battalion of 24th Ukrainian army’s Brigade opened fire. A civilian stepped on the mine near the village of Trekhizbenka. The 14th Brigade of the Ukrainian army placed the mine.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky took credit for the ceasefire on the contact line with the republics of Donbass. In his interview to BBC on October 12, the president stressed that no rounds of ammunition were fired for 75 days in Donbass.
The JCCCC observers registered the previous violation of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian military on October 3. The Ukrainian army’s units fired 2 SPG-9 grenades on Zolotoye-5 and Lozovoye villages, small arms was also used.
