Ukrainian military has placed two hundred mines on the contact line in the LPR

14.10.2020, Lugansk.

Observers of the People’s Militia of Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR PM) discovered a minefield laid by the Ukrainian military on the troops’ contact line, an LPR PM representative said on October 14.

The spokesman said the Ukrainian troops had mined the area near the roads not far from the village of Popasnaya. The military of the 30th Ukrainian army’s Brigade placed several rows of 220 anti-tank mines on the roadsides near the village.

On September 11, the Ukrainian side disrupted an inspection in the village of Shumy on the contact line with the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), where, according to observers, the Ukrainian military moved their combat positions closer to a critical infrastructure facility – the Seversky Donets-Donbass water pipeline.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that the Ukrainian army was fulfilling the terms of additional measures to control the ceasefire regime. But placing mines is a violation of additional control measures.

Ukrainian MPs also showed that the Ukrainian government would not observe the Minsk Agreements when they adopted a resolution on local elections and banned elections in the republics of Donbass until the border with Russia is taken under control of Ukrainian border guards.

On October 3, Zelensky associated himself with the Verkhovna Rada members when he stated in his interview d that peace in Ukraine would come only on Ukrainian conditions without taking into account opinion of residents of Donbass.
