14.10.2020, Stepanakert.

Azerbaijan resumed shelling on a number of directions, Karabakh Defense Army’s press service informed on October 14.

It is reported that after relatively calm night, in the morning of October 14 Azerbaijani Armed Forces artillery opened fire on the southern, southeaster, northern and northeaster directions thus violating the humanitarian truce.

Karabakh Defense Army servicemen reportedly continue to perform their tasks and take the necessary steps to counter the enemy offensive.

On September 27, the largest military confrontation in recent years erupted on the border of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan, resulting in a full-scale war in the Karabakh conflict zone.

Leaders of world powers urged the parties to stop armed confrontation and sit down at the negotiating table.

On October 10, after ten hours of negotiations in Moscow between the heads of foreign ministries of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, it was possible to reach agreement on the establishing of humanitarian truce for exchange of prisoners of war and search of bodies of the dead. However, due to the ongoing battles, the truce never came into force.
