09.10.2020, Donetsk.

The Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire at the contact line in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) twice over the past day, a DPR representative at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire (JCCCC) informed on October 9.

The representative said that on October 8, at 6.40 am (Moscow time zone), two anti-tank guided missiles were fired on the new terminal of the former Donetsk airport from the 56th Brigade’s positions in Opytnoye village. At 9.50 am (Moscow time zone), 3 SPG-9 grenades were fire on the Donetsk-Severny railway station from the position of the 56th Brigade’s positions near Avdeevka.

The DPR People’s Militia Staff informed that the Ukrainian command had ordered to open fire on the DPR territory because the delegation from Lithuania, headed by Ambassador Valdemaras Sarapinas, arrived to the 54th Brigade.

The Ukrainian military thus justified the need to receive another batch of military and technical assistance from Lithuania.

The JCCCC observers also registered explosions at the positions of the Ukrainian troops near the village of Peski at 3.13 pm (Moscow time zone) and near the village of Vodyanoye at 4.45 pm (Moscow time zone).

On October 7, the JCCCC observers registered two violations of the ceasefire. The enemy opened fire on Mineralnoye and Yasinovatoye villages, RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade launchers and small arms were used.
