Kurginyan: To build ideology, we must define what Communism is

28.09.2020, Moscow.

To build an ideology in Russia, it is necessary to hold a national discussion about what Communism is. This was announced on September 27 by political scientist, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in the air of Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on Russia One TV channel.

Kurginyan pointed out that it is impossible to condemn both Communism and Fascism, because in Europe the force to fight Nazism were the Communists. And in Russia it is all the more impossible to curse the Communists, as it means to curse “the feat of our people in the Great Patriotic War, which, nevertheless, was achieved under the leadership of the Communist Party and personally Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin“.

However, because people who worked to bring about the collapse of the Soviet Union also called themselves Communists, it is necessary to separate on group of Communists from the other in order to “build a dialogue between the conservative non-communist forces and pro-Communist forces“.

Communism is the emancipation of the highest creative abilities in Man and an advance towards a New Man. It is a highly humanistic idea. Marx spoke of a human essence, alienation from which is deadly, and we see how deadly it is and everything that Vladimir Volfovich (Zhirinovsky) describes is fair enough. This is part of the alienation from this human essence,” explained Kurginyan.

Earlier, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky said that former Soviet president Gorbachev “is worse than Napoleon, worse than Hitler, worse than Genghis Khan,” because the collapse of the Soviet Union spawned, among other things, conflict flash points where people die, such as Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as tragic events in Ukraine, current events in Belarus, etc.

In Kurginyan’s opinion, it is necessary to hold a national discussion about Communism, cleanse this idea of all the dirt and build an ideology on its basis.

This is a very complicated issue, which has long required a national discussion, especially in Russia, because we are confused about it: communists, not communists, Lenin, Stalin. It’s time to separate the wheat from the chaff and to build on this basis exactly that ideology, which Vladimir Volfovich is skeptical about here,” stressed the leader of the Essence of Time movement.

According to Marx, a person has a human essence, or “species-being” because he creates and develops himself (his kind) and the world around him as a universal and free entity. Alienated labor does not allow us to express out “species-bieng”, i.e., the creative abilities inherent to us, which require realization. Alienated labor separates the transcendental from the human being, which can be expressed to its full degree in free creative labor. Thus, a person engaged in alienated labor is separated from his creative essence, from what makes him a human being.
