Kurginyan: Ukrainian policy has two traits – dependence and baseness

19.09.2020, Moscow.

The current Ukrainian policy is characterized by dependence and baseness, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on September 15 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.

The political scientist stated, “The first feature of Ukraine’s policy is a complete dependence on any gesture by the West. There is no attempt to pursue its own policy.”

According to Kurginyan, its second feature, which was always inherent to Bandera’s [Nazi collaborator] followers, as opposed to the other noble Ukraine, is baseness. Kurginyan believes that Bandera’s followers cannot be compared even to the SS, because the SS, though they were “scoundrels and murderers”, had a certain warrior spirit, and they did not run from a fight, even against superior Soviet forces.

“There was this German, thuggish, criminal, but courageous style,” said Kurginyan.

The political scientist added that unlike them, the Bandera Nazis knew only how to torture. “An amazing sophistication in torture and an absolute unwillingness to fight for real. This is the main feature of this baseness,” stressed the political scientist.

Kurginyan noted that this feature in no way applies to the entire Ukrainian people, who fought bravely on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War, and among whom were many Heroes of the Soviet Union.

He also added that, “This is a feature of a certain inner subculture meanness, torture and obedience. ‘We will do as the master said!’ An inner groveling without looking at your own interest.”

Kurginyan concluded by the following phrase, “Now we are witnessing all these constantly increasing features. This cannot help but worry us. This is not good. There are bad symptoms.”
