Kurginyan: “Monstrous China” in US statements is rhetoric of war

18.09.2020, Moscow.

The dramatic shift in the US establishment’s rhetoric towards China demonstrates a new phase in US-China relations, as the US has realized that it cannot restrain China any longer, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on September 16 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.

Analyzing the changes on global politics, Kurginyan points out a dramatic change in the tone of the US administration’s statements towards China: over the previous twenty years such strong epithets were never used towards the PRC.

“‘Communist China,’ ‘we will show the Chinese Communist Party,’ ‘communist outrage…’ It used to be a ‘fraternal’ China, ‘wonderful’ China, ‘the main economic partner.’ So to say, ‘a driver of our economy,’” Kurginyan explained the changes taking place in the US rhetoric.

“Now it is only ‘a red disgusting country,’ ‘communist killers,’ ‘bastards’ etc. And this rhetoric is escalating,” the political scientist notes.

Kurginyan believes that in this kind of situation statements are not merely words, because they mean something specific. Of course, this began together with the coronavirus pandemic, when the “Chinese virus,” the “Chinese threat,” and the “Chinese system” appeared.

However, the US anti-Chinese policy appeared for a reason. “Since a very long time ago, when Mr. Rumsfeld was defense secretary, his team developed a scenario named ‘Red Dawn,’ according to which China would launch a biological attack. The US would respond… And this was the beginning of this competition. All of this has been consistently elaborated since 2000 and further on. It went through several versions since the end of 1990s,” Kurginyan explained.

According to Kurginyan, the neocons were responsible for developing these plans. Rumsfeld and Fauci are part of the same “coronavirus brigade,” people of the same circle, the political scientist notes.

“Mr. Rumsfeld himself came to the position of defense secretary from the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry, and he then returned there to lead a very large company, which is now part of this virus agenda,” Kurginyan notes.

In any event, the political scientist stresses, until today the US did not use such a confrontational rhetoric towards China. Why is it now that we hear about “a monstrous China,” “a terrible China” etc., Kurginyan wonders.

He believes that the US understands that economic measures alone cannot stop China from gaining momentum. The US cannot revive its economy, and it does not want to lose the position of the number one global superpower. Previously, the US hoped that the PRC would not be so ambitious and that it would remain on the fringes, but China has challenged the US,  intending to assume the leading positions globally.

“Everyone must understand that the US will never concede the position of the number one superpower, because this position gives it privileges and capabilities to stay above the water. As soon as it leaves this position, loses the global currency, etc. it will immediately drop to the second or the third position,” Kurginyan believes.

He stresses that the US population is overfed and spoiled, and it will not tolerate any decrease in consumption. And then the disorders we see today in US cities will look like child’s play, and the White House understands this.

“The classical US establishment, which I know very well, will never give up the number one position. This means that if there is no other way to keep it, the final option would be war,” Kurginyan concluded.
