Norms of human existence can be defended only by having examples for a society to follow. Conservative Belarus, as well as Russia and any other contemporary country, appeals to these examples, but they are few and ambiguous. This creates great political difficulties, a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s observer Andrey Plotnikov thinks.
“If we are talking about a conservative, ‘classical’ Man, then who is it? What should not a globalist citizen of Belarus be guided by?” the observer asks. He reminded that media personalities are the most common cynosure for a contemporary man. “And who is it: Trump? Kusturica? Writer Zakhar Prilepin? Putin? Whose example should a simple person who does not want to merge with LGBT follow?” he continued.
Plotnikov noted that it is not so easy to find a “classic hero” in contemporary cinema or literature. “In this respect, even a private Ryan will do in a pinch. Because there is no one at all. “
Among religious figures, “also Gandhi is not noticeable, the most charismatic, by the way, is the Dalai Lama, for whom traditional values are not important.” At the same time, the peculiarity of the current situation in the world is that there are many supporters of classical human norms, but they do not want to formalize them politically, following Marine Le Pen, Pope, Lukashenko, Putin or someone else.
Plotnikov comes to the conclusion that the main symbol of contemporary conservative mankind is, nevertheless, Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the observer, this is confirmed by the popularity of the Russian leader among conservative citizens in the West.
