Kurginyan: Trump is up against both Democrats and the Republican Party’s Neocons

Previously fringe concepts and ideas are now becoming the mainstream in the current US political discourse, said the leader of the Essence of Time movement and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan on September 5, on the air of The Right to Know TV program on the TV Center channel.

Trump, the US President, already uses the words ‘deep state’, which used to be considered conspiracy rubbish. Do you notice in general how what was on the fringes (all this conspiracy theories) is suddenly becoming the mainstream?” said the political scientist.

“When he says that, it means that there will be an intense political battle,” stressed Kurginyan.

According to the political scientist, all of this demonstrates a very intense political conflict in the US between neoconservatives and democrats on one side and paleoconservatives on the other. The result of this struggle is very difficult to predict.

Kurginyan stressed that the neoconservatives are a specific group in the US political elite, it is “ideological and messianic all to the core, meaning that a certain type of an idea, a certain paradigm takes precedence for them.” At the same time, neither US President Donald Trump nor Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden are part of this, said the political scientist.

Trump is a paleoconservative, he is a completely different person. They [neoconservatives] hate him, and he is forced to maneuver all the time, for example, on the issue of Souleimani’s murder in Iran. He did not want to do what he did, but he was forced by a very specific group, which said: ‘… if you fail to do this, the voting in Congress [on Trump’s impeachment] will be different,” said Kurginyan. According to the political scientist, on this issue, Trump succumbed to the pressure of the neoconservatives and “did what he had to.”

Nevertheless, Trump is unlikely to agree with a civil war in the US – unlike the Democrats, stressed the political scientist. “It is impossible to force Trump into war, it would be easier with Biden,” he emphasized.

However, in addition to a civil war, there are other quite possible scenarios for the further course of events, believes Kurginyan. “They have a parallel control system, which is quite real and respectable,” noted the political scientist. “In the event of a deepening crisis and civil war, certain parts of the military elite may come to power and manage the process. We don’t know how it will go.

“I know one thing: the Anglo-Saxon continues to rule in the US, and he will will not give up power. Ever!” summed up Kurginyan.

Donald Trump has no other support than the US Republican Party, in which neoconservatives play a significant role, whose positions on many issues differ from Trump’s position, stressed Sergey Kurginyan in the ”Coronavirus – its goals, authors and masters. Part X – Essence of Time” research project.

Therefore, Trump is forced to negotiate with them and make concessions to the neocons, claims Sergey Kurginyan citing leading respected publications.

For example, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal wrote that one of such concessions to the neocons was Trump’s consent to the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Souleiamani in exchange for Senate Republican support for Trump in the Senate in the impeachment case.

Trump’s victory in the election would mean removing the influence of the neoconservative wing of the Republican Party from power, that is why they have begun to strongly oppose the incumbent president, emphasized Kurginyan in this article.
