Kurginyan reveals how some get around the ban on human genetic editing

06.09.2020, Moscow.

Using the mRNA reprogramming system is essentially a way to get around the ban on direct intervention to the human genome, the political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on September 2 in a new issue of “The Meaning of the Game” broadcast released on The Essence of Time movement’s YouTube channel.

While citing an article “mRNA-Based Genetic Reprogramming” from Molecular Therapy, Sergey Kurginyan stresses the following phrase: “the mRNA reprogramming system offers an attractive path around one of the main stumbling blocks to future iPSC-based therapeutics.”

The political scientist focuses on the authors’ desire to “find an attractive path around one of the main stumbling blocks” in order to create a new antivirus therapy. He says: “But what is this main stumbling block that can be bypassed through mRNA reprogramming? It is the ban on editing of the human genome. So, they are getting around this ban!”

The expert adds: “The mRNA reprogramming is not a ‘hard’ form of human modification. And therefore, this will not be rejected with such ferocity that appears when it comes to the ‘hard’ genetic editing on the basis of CRISPR-Cas9.”

Sergey Kurginyan also reminds that the biotechnology company Moderna, which is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is working on a COVID-19 vaccine based on the mRNA reprogramming technology.

Earlier, Sergey Kurginyan released a number of episodes of “The Meaning of the Game” on The Essence of Time movement’s YouTube channel, where he analyzed the causes of the coronavirus and the consequences of the pandemic for all of humanity. The list of issues include: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, and Part 12. The transcripts for Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 have been translated into English. English video versions are available for Part 1 and Part 2.
