Political scientist speaks about new elements of color revolution in Belarus

The involvement of workers’ associations is a new element in the color revolution technology, political scientist, Doctor of Political Sciences Sergey Chernyakhovsky said in an interview to a correspondent of the Rossa Primavera News Agency on August 19.

“The fact that the organizers of the coup d’etat attempt have successfully engaged entire worker’s teams is a new feature indicative of new elements in this technology,” Chernyakhovsky noted.

The political scientist urged the Russian authorities to take this fact into account, because Russia “will face similar events soon, after a while.”

“However, it will all depend on our authorities, which make a lot of mistakes themselves, thus reducing the number of those who are willing to take to the streets to support them,” he added.

Chernyakhovsky stressed that Russia should learn a lesson from the crisis in Belarus and be prepared to a war for the existence of its state. “All this should be taken into account, and we must act as during a war. If the enemy formally comes without a weapon it does not mean he is not an enemy any more, he simply uses a different weapon. We must understand that further existence of our state is at stake.”

On August 9, presidential elections took place in Belarus, at which Aleksandr Lukashenko won. However, the opposition candidates refused to acknowledge the election outcome.

After August 9, mass rallies of Aleksandr Lukashenko opponents take place every day. The re-elected president, in his turn, held a mass rally at the Independence Square in the center of Minsk on August 16. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic, 65 participants came to the Lukashenko supporters’ rally.
