The President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko made many critical mistakes, but the responsibility for what is happening in Belarus and the future of the country lies not only on him, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political analyst Sergey Kurginyan said on August 17 on the air of Vladimir Solovyov’s broadcast SolovyovLive.
He stressed that the main force on which a true political leader can and should rely is the people. But it is necessary to reach the people somehow – one need ways to communicate with them.
“Where are the mass media supporting Lukashenko? Where is the press corps that is ready to wage an information war? I do not see it at all,” the political scientist said.
According to him, it is obvious that the events will not be limited to the simple replacement of President Lukashenko by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the wife of a blogger: at the same time such processes will start, that everyone will wish it had never happened. “Does no one understand this?” the political scientist asked.
“Where are those responsible folks who understand that now one has to fight for the people [of Belarus], not for Lukashenko? Where are those people who will show the real picture?” Kurginyan appealed to society.
