Training sessions on diving and detection of underwater saboteurs are conducted for the Black Sea Fleet’s Squad for Countering Sabotage Forces and Means, the Black Sea region Information support department of the Russian Defense Ministry informs on August 9.
Routine military exercises are conducted with the use of high-speed anti-sabotage multi-purpose boat “Grachonok” (ASMB). On specially equipped areas of the sea coast in the Black Sea Anti-sabotage squad soldiers practice scuba diving at different times of a day in a full diving equipment.
The ASMB crew is looking for submerged objects and simulated enemy divers with the help of boat equipment. The squad also practices in engaging sea targets with the ASMB weapons.
ASMB Project 21980 “Grachonok” is armed with 14.5 mm machine gun, two grenade launchers and four man-portable anti-aircraft missile system “Igla-1” or “Verba”.
