Kurginyan shows Trotskyist roots of US neoconservatism

25.07.2020, Moscow.

The US neocons make no secret of their relations with Trotskyism and of the fact that they borrowed important methodological principles from it, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said in “The Meaning of the Game” broadcast published on July 23 on the movement’s YouTube channel.

Based on Francis Fukuyama’s book America at the Crossroads and other US-based sources, the political scientist demonstrated the Trotskyist genesis of the key provisions of US neoconservatism today.

Also, Kurginyan spoke about the link between the founder of the US neoconservatism Irving Kristol and the Young People’s Socialist League, which was part of the Trotskyist Fourth International.

In this issue of “The Meaning of the Game” Sergey Kurginyan, in his discussion of the methodological principles of neoconservatism, cites the publisher of the National Interest US neoconservative journal Dimitri Simes, who stresses “the neo-Trotskyist belief of neocons in permanent revolution (even if democratic, and not proletarian).”

“Neoconservatism, if we rephrase the known statement ‘we all came out of the Gogol’s overcoat,’ came out of the Trotskyist overcoat,” the analyst concluded.
