Three Ukrainian servicemen exploded on a minefield near Gorlovka in the area of Zaytsevo village, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) representative office in the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC) informed Donetsk News Agency on 14 July.

At the moment, the issue concerning the evacuation of the bodies to Ukraine is being resolved.

“Servicemen of the reconnaissance group of the 35th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Army, carrying out a reconnaissance task on the position of the DPR People’s Militia in the area of Zaytsevo, were blown up on an explosive device, which killed one member of the reconnaissance group on the site. At the moment, we are discussing possible and acceptable for both sides options to evacuate another two bodies of dead soldiers, proposed by the Ukrainian side to the JCCC,” the representative office said.

According to the provided information, after the explosion of soldiers on the minefield, Ukraine requested a ceasefire to evacuate the bodies of the dead. The DPR garantied the ceasefire, but the Ukrainian army’s military groups launched offensive from the Ukrainian territory; the military groups’ movement was carried out with fire support. Two drones were used to adjust the fire. For these reasons, the evacuation of the bodies was disrupted.

The DPR servicemen evacuated one of the bodies as a goodwill gesture.
