Ukrainian army uses artillery against the Lugansk People’s Republic

Observers registered heavy destruction in the village of Donetskiy in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) after artillery shelling, the LPR representative office in the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC) informed on July 7.

The statement reads that the Ukrainian military opened fire from the side of the village Krymskoye. Residential houses on Shevchenko Street 14, 17 and 25 of the village were destroyed by hits of the shells. On Elektrovoznaya Street 12, a hit by mortar shell destroyed a barn and killed livestock.

The Ukrainian military opened fire on the 110kV Mikhaylovka-Tsentrokuz power line, the line was damaged, and several transmission towers were destroyed. 220 houses in Berezovskoye village and Tsentrokuz forging plant in Kirovsk were left without electricity. There is no information on civilian casualties.

The Lugansk People’s Militia informed that the military of the 93rd brigade of the Ukrainian Army fired four 122mm artillery shells. There is also information that the enemy used mortars.

The servicemen of the Lugansk People’s Militia opened fire on the enemy’s firing points. The Ukrainian side suffered losses, two soldiers were killed, and two soldiers were injured.

The air defense systems and electronic warfare of the People’s Militia discovered and forced the MEVIK-Pro drone of the Ukrainian army to land. The Ukrainian military used the drone for reconnaissance and correction of artillery fire in the village.

Ceasefire on the LPR territory went into force on July 5, 2020. On July 4, 2020, the Ukrainian troops fired on the village of Golubovskoye and damaged a residential house. The Ukrainian troops fired 15 120mm mortar shells.
