DPR leader: Donbass will never become part of Ukraine again

03.07.2020, Donetsk.

The Chairman of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said that Donbass cannot accept Kiev’s neo-Nazi ideology, and it does not plan to become part of Ukraine again. He made this statement on July 3 in an interview to the Govorit Moskva radio station.

“The people of Donbass do not consider reunification with Kiev. Ukraine’s anti-Russian and neo-Nazi ideology is alien to us, we have a different attitude to moral norms, traditions, historical values. The future of Donbass is associated with Russia. Today, we focus on the promotion of integration processes with the Russian Federation; the chances of returning to Ukraine are zero,” the DPR leader said.

According to Pushilin, Ukraine openly demonstrates reluctance to peacefully resolve the conflict, and it uses hostilities to hide its own incompetence.

“Ukraine has huge debts, and it is on the verge of default; the war helps it stay above the water. If the conflict is over, it will not receive the support it currently receives from its Western partners. This means the loss of its main source of funding, the loans from the international organizations,” he noted.
