A woman killed during Ukrainian army’s shelling of a settlement in DPR

Shrapnel wounds caused the death of a resident of Zaytsevo village in Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the press service of the DPR People’s Militia on July 3.

The statement reads that a mortar shell hit the yard of a local resident, a 60-years old woman, at 5.55 AM due to the indiscriminate shelling of the northern outskirts of Zaytsevo village conducted by the Ukrainian military. The woman died at the scene of shelling from multiple shrapnel wounds.

The press service of the DPR People’s Militia claimed that the Ukrainian punitive forces of the 35th Ukrainian Marine Brigade opened fire on the southern outskirts of Zaytsevo village on the Gorlovka direction.

Soldiers of the People’s Militia managed to shoot down a drone, which the Ukrainian military used to correct the shelling. After the destruction of the drone, the Ukrainian war criminals opened indiscriminate fire on the area.

“The command of the Ukrainian occupation forces accused the DPR People’s Militia divisions of killing a civilian, although in the morning statement of the Joint Forces Operation headquarter the shelling conducted by our units on this direction were not reported,” the statement reads.

On June 3 2020, the Ukrainian military opened fire on the village near the Gagarin coalmine in Gorlovka and destroyed the water pipeline in Dzerzhinsk. Observers of Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination registered eight holes in the pipe. Residents of Dzerzhinsk were left without drinking water.
