Russian President Vladimir Putin explained on June 28 on the air of the Russia One channel reasons why Russia had decided to help European countries in fighting the coronavirus.
“We did this not due to some political considerations, but because they were in a difficult situation and asked us for help,” said Putin.
The Russian leader added that at the same time nobody else did not help European countries, even their closest allies.
Putin stressed the importance of international cohesion in the face of the common threat. According to him, attempts to compromise noble actions and aspirations of Russia have no prospects since its open, honest and friendly position is clear for civil society of the countries, to which Russia provided a helping hand.
Putin believes that the Russian position can not be ignored in future by political elites.
