The neoliberal values that the West imposes are alien to human nature, the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolay Patrushev wrote in his article published in the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper.
The article is entitled Does Russia Need “Universal Values”?, with a subtitle “Moral and Spiritual Values of the Society as the Basis of the Sovereignty of State.”
According to Patrushev, these neoliberal ‘universal’ values are not only destructive to the spiritual basis of states, but they also undermine the entire global security system.
Patrushev believes that these “values” cannot be “accepted by the multi-national Russian people under any circumstances.”
The neoliberal ideas suggested in the works of J. Hobson, L. Hobhouse, T. Green, J. Keynes, and others leave the state only with the function of establishing competition rules and the laws of free market.
Free market and unrestrained competition, according to the neoliberal classics, are the main, or even the only, drivers of progress and social justice.
