Polish authorities: The more US soldiers will be in Europe, the better

17.06.2020, Warsaw.

The increase in the US troops in Poland is not associated with its reduction in Germany, said the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland Michal Dvorchik on June 17 on the air of Polish Radio.

He explained that it is up to the U.S. to decide where and how large the military contingent is to be deployed. However, the Polish government believes that the more US soldiers will be in Europe, the better. On their part, the Polish authorities are trying to ensure that the US military contingent in the country would be as large as possible, explained Michal Palace.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-fold reduction in the number of U.S. military personnel in Germany (up to 25,000), due to the fact that the latter has overdue payments to NATO. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki expressed hope that at least part of these forces will be redeployed to his country.
