Political scientist: Russia is too soft towards the Czech Republic

05.06.2020, Moscow.

The leadership of the Czech Republic demonstrates loyalty to the anti-Russian Western elite by expelling Russian diplomats from the country on far-fetched charges, while the Russian Foreign Ministry only menacingly retorts, but does nothing, said Doctor of Political Science, political analyst Sergey Chernyakhovsky, Rossa Primavera News Agency informed on June 5.

Assessing the situation after the expulsion of Russian ambassadors from the Czech Republic, Chernyakhovsky said, “I can only regret that Russia has not recalled them earlier, because the Czech Republic has behaved itself quite indecently. And in this case, this is in general a reproach to the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Russian leadership with respect to their foreign policy, that if you do not respect yourself, others will not respect you either.” He also added that our leadership is afraid to offend anyone, and as a result it doesn’t look very serious against the background of those who specialize in insulting Russia.

The political scientist believes that our Foreign Ministry suffers from a complex of bourgeois part of the Soviet-Russian capital intelligentsia, which has always believed that it is better to wipe spit off the face than to kick someone in the teeth.

As for the leaders of the Czech Republic, they simply satisfy certain demands for attemps to bully Russia. “See how brave wе are, we can also give the finger to Russia and even put thumbtacks on the chair,” said Chernyakhovsky.

In other words, it is a way of showing their usefulness for the Western anti-Russian elites, although the Czech side knows for sure that they will get nothing for it, says the political scientist.

On June 5, the Czech Prime Minister declared two Russian diplomats persona non grata. The unproven information about bringing poisonous substance in the Czech Republic by one of the diplomats was called to be the reason for this decision.
