Venezuela: US sanctions are crime against humanity

02.06.2020, Caracas.

The recent Washington sanctions against companies that supply fuel from Iran to Venezuela demonstrated USA’s aggression against Venezuela, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic Jorge Arreaza wrote on June 2 on his Twitter page.

According to the Venezuelan minister, the actions of the US Secretary of State Pompeo towards the Bolivarian Republic are “criminal obsession.” He believes that the new sanctions will seriously damage Venezuela.

“He [Pompeo ― Rossa Primavera News Agency] wants Venezuelans to run out of gas, and to make the state unable to sell oil and import medicines, foods, and raw materials for industry. This is a crime against humanity,” Arreaza wrote.

On June 2, the USA Treasury Department imposed sanctions against four companies and four courts for connections with Venezuela. Three companies registered on the Marshall Islands and one registered in Greece that were included on the sanctions list supplied fuel from Iran to the Bolivarian Republic. This is why the USA froze their assets, and it banned its citizens and companies from having business with them.
