Syrian army launches a missile strike on militants in the Latakia mountains

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) attacked the militants’ fortifications in the town of Kabani in northern Latakia on May 31, the Lebanese Al-Masdar newspaper informed.

Government forces launched a massive artillery and missile attack on terrorists’ fortifications in the mountainous region of Latakia. According to the newspaper, the Syrian army is preparing an offensive and wants to throw the militants out of Kabani.

Terrorists from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (organization banned in Russia) and the Islamic Party of Turkestan (organization banned in Russia) held the city.

The latter group consists of Syrian Turkmens and Uighurs, and it is known for calling for the killing of Christians and Alawites in Syria and training suicide bombers.
