French Communist Party supports nominating Cuban doctors for the Nobel Prize

The French Communist Party (PCF) supported on May 30 an initiative, born in France, to nominate Cuban medical brigades fighting the COVID-19 pandemic all across the world for the Nobel Peace Prize, Prensa Latina reports.

The initiative was launched in France in the end of April 2020. This has gained support from more than 60 public organizations and unions that represent different social groups from Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, Tunisia, Honduras and so on.

PCF’s National Secretary Fabien Roussel emphasized the resistance of Cubans and their role in fighting the pandemic.

Cuba’s Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade was established on the initiative of Fidel Castro. During last 15 years, its specialists have been actively taking part in saving lives in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean Basin countries.
