It is a part of the U.S. policy that Germany stops working on the project Nord Stream 2, U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell on May 25 wrote on his official Twitter page.
“You always wanted me to stop asking you publicly to pay your NATO obligations and calling for an end to Nord Stream 2. But these are US policies. And I work for the American people,” Grennell wrote.
Earlier, the outgoing U.S. ambassador in Berlin said that with his departure, pressure on Germany would not be lifted. The one, who thinks so, makes a big mistake and does not know Americans, said Grenell.
