The People’s Militia armed forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) were placed on high alert, the DPR Head Denis Pushilin said on May 20, as reported on the Telegram-Channel of the head of the republic.
Pushilin stressed that the DPR and LPR authorities had to decide to place the People’s Militia armed forces on high alert due to the increased number of shelling conducted by Ukraine. The DPR Head noted that civilians of the DPR and LPR territories not under Kiev’s control were suffering because of the shelling. Thus, the Ukrainian military impede a constructive dialogue between the republics and Kiev.
“In this regard, I have decided to increase combat readiness of the People’s Police units in case of further aggressive actions of Kiev,” Pushilin said.
