The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) began military actions against Islamists in the Deir ez-Zor province on May 12, a Rossa Primavera News Agency source in the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) informed.
Government forces and their allies clashed with militants in the north of Kabajib village and near al-Bashari mount in western Deir ez-Zor. The allies are not specified, but Russia, Iran and Lebanon are helping Syria in the war against terror.
The main ISIL (organization banned in Russia) forces in Syria were defeated by December 2017. There are few terrorist cells left in the country, which have gone underground.
