Kurginyan explains why Russia’s unwillingness to surrender its Victory enrages United States off

The West’s new Cold War against Russia is even more merciless than the previous one against USSR, said the leader of the Essence of Time social and political movement Sergey Kurginyan, in the “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Soloviev” program on Russia-1 TV channel on May 10.

The interpretation of history becomes a cornerstone of politics, emphasized Kurginyan. According to the Western countries, the collapse of the Soviet Union is the result of Russia’s defeat in the Cold War. And one of the components of this defeat was establishing the myth that it was not the USSR that made the decisive contribution to the victory over Hitler’s machine, explained Kurginyan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s participation in the discussion on historical issues about the beginning of World War II is quite reasonable, says the political scientist. According to Kurginyan, Russia’s unwillingness to bow to the West and accept the imposed concept of history, drives the US and its closest allies into hysteria.

Russia should respond to external attacks “with all certainty and to the end,” said the leader of “the Essence of Time” movement. “Those who talk tough enough are left alone,” and “those who hesitate – are beaten,” concluded Kurginyan.

In late 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin started off a debate about the role of the Soviet Union in World War II and that equating Stalin with Hitler is unacceptable.

At an informal summit of the CIS on December 20, Putin gave a summary of historical documents related to the pre-war period. The documents showed that the Western countries were trying to reach an agreement with Hitler behind the back of the Soviet Union.
