Lenin is the savior of Russia and humanity, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 22 answering questions by the Literaturnaya Gazeta newspaper.
The article Savior of Russia and Humanity was written for the 150th anniversary of V. I. Lenin’s birth celebrated on April 22.
Answering the question of what Lenin was, Kurginyan said that he has never changed his position regarding the founder of the USSR.
“Lenin is the one who founded the Soviet state, which was able to continue the historical life of the people, to improve this life, to give it a new quality, and to play an essential role in the destinies of humankind,” the leader of Essence of Time said.
“Lenin is the person who did not let the country decay and perish, but who saved Russia and the people from national demise. Furthermore, he saved humanity from many disasters. For example, from a global Nazi concentration camp, but not only from this,” he stressed.
Kurginyan pointed out “a deadly political ideology,” which is promoted, he believes, by the former governor of Saint-Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko. Poltavchenko, who was part of the “Young Communist League (Komsomol) governing establishment” and the KGB in the Soviet period, went as far during the post-Soviet era as calling Lenin a hell-raiser who must not remain near the Kremlin. Kurginyan stressed that Lenin is not a hell raiser, but rather “he is the founder of our great state, which is home to the meanings of all our lives as well the lives of our fathers and grandfathers!”
According to Kurginyan, the transformation of Poltavchenko and a number of other Komsomol and Communist Party leaders was a process of self-denial launched by the Soviet governing establishment, which “resulted in a fantastic catastrophe for the country and the world.”
The respondents who gave interviews to the Rossa Primavera News Agency before the 150th anniversary of V. I. Lenin’s birth could not name a comparable historical figure. For example, Doctor of Historical Sciences Vladimir Pavlenko said that no one can be recognized as equal to Lenin in secular history. “Sooner or later, Lenin will be canonized for saving Russian statehood in the 20th century,” he said. Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the Moscow State University Sergey Chernyakhovsky believes that Lenin is a global reformer on the scale of Buddha, Muhammad, and Christ.
