The leader of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar called for recognition the Government of National Accord (GNA) as unlawful in a speech on live TV on April 23.
The Field Marshal stated that “the GNA Presidential Council is corrupt, it destroyed the country’s economy and robbed the people.” He also noted that the GNA had flooded Libya with mercenaries sponsored by Turkey in an attempt to fight against the LNA. He noted that the cities of Sabratha and Surman, captured by the GNA forces on April 13, are still occupied by terrorists.
He urged tо withdraw recognition of the government in Tripoli and to create new structures to run the country.
Haftar noted that the LNA continues to combat terrorism and will continue to fight until the Libyan land is totally free.
On April 16, the Libyan House of representatives in Tobruk as protected by the LNA, put in a request to the UN to stop the Turkish aggression in the country.
