Serbian Foreign Minister: pandemic shows cleavages in EU in face of COVID-19

11.04.2020, Belgrade.

The lack of solidarity in the EU in the face of pandemic, which was mentioned by Brussels, has become evident, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić said on April 11, Vecernje Novosti reports.

According to him, the EU is not anymore a cohesive structure against the background of pandemic crisis. In this regard, it is significant that EU countries did not succeed to make an agreement on creating a fund in order to mitigate economic repercussions of the COVID-19.

The Minister brought attention to the fact that EU countries had taken care of their own national problems. The ban on medical aid to Italy confirms this.

Ivica Dačić added that nobody does not even think about Serbia and other EU candidates.

Dačić said that his country has to settle all the problems of the current crisis on its own taking care of its national interests.

To date, 3105 coronavirus cases have been reported in Serbia, including 71 dead.
