Ukrainian army intensifies drone reconnaissance missions in Lugansk People’s Republic

27.03.2020, Lugansk.

The Ukrainian army has intensified the use of drones in reconnaissance and fire adjustment along the contact line in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), the Chief of the LPR People’s Militia Yan Leshchenko said at a press conference on March 27.

According to Leshchenko, the Ukrainian militants use drones for reconnaissance and fire adjustment in violation of the Minsk agreements. For example, on March 26 the LPR defenders shot down a Ukrainian “Phantom-4” drone in the village of Kalinovo controlled by the Republic. Immediately after the drone was shot down, the shelling of Kalinovo by the Ukrainian army stopped.

Over the past week, the Ukrainian army shelled the LPR territory six times, damaging two residential buildings in the village of Berezovskoye.
