Russian intelligence services detained a terrorist who planned the Crimean Bridge terrorist attack prior to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s crossing, said Russian MP Konstantin Zatulin on January 13 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV Program on the Russia One channel.
“Do you know how many people were convicted of preparing terrorist acts in Crimea? 79, in one year,” said Zatulin in his comments. They are not people who just did not accept the reunification of Crimea with Russia, they are the people who “have ties to your (Ukrainian – editorial comment) intelligence agencies,” stressed the MP.
“There was even a threat of staging a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge in an attempt to interfere with the Russian President’s crossing. A week prior to it,”- said the MP. He noted that this information becomes public for the first time.
On May 15, 2018, the Russian President opened the automobile part of the Crimean Bridge by passing it on a heavy truck. The car traffic across the bridge was launched a day later. Freight transport was allowed to cross the bridge since October 1.
The railway section of the bridge was opened on December 23.
