07.01.2020, Damascus.

The Syrian Democratic Forces freed 34 militants suspected of belonging to the Islamic State (ISIL, organization banned in Russia) on January 7, the Rossa Primavera News Agency’s source in Syria informs.

At the same time, the body of the murdered Turkestani woman from the ISIL (organization banned in Russia) militants’ wives was discovered in the Al-Hawl camp in the Hasaka province under the control of the SDF.

In turn, in the Deir ez-Zor province, the international coalition forces controlling the Cornico gas plant in the eastern part of the province received large military reinforcements, including armored vehicles and rocket launchers.

After the beginning of Turkey’s military Operation Peace Spring in northern Syria in October 2019, a number of the SDF leaders said that they were unable to maintain control over the camps and prisons, in which the ISIL (an organization banned in Russia) militants and their relatives were imprisoned.

According to the Russia Defense Ministry, in the fall of 2019, a total of more than 100 thousand fighters and their relatives were on the territory controlled by the SDF.
