Beijing is responding to Soleimani's murder

05.01.2020, Beijing.

The Chinese embassy in Washington issued today a warning of increased security risks for Chinese citizens, who live in the US, following the assassination in Iraq of Major General Kassem Soleimani, a representative of Iran’s highest military command. This was reported by the South China Morning Post on January 5.

The diplomatic mission urges compatriots to be vigilant and take precautions when visiting public places: “Anyone who faces a possible threat should contact the embassy or local consulate, or call the Chinese Foreign Ministry 24*7 hotline“.

According to the Media, the level of anxiety raised by the American action is confirmed by the fact that the embassy’s post has been read more than 130 million times on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, and almost all the users of social networks have expressed their concern about the situation with Chinese citizens in the United States.
