Over 850 refugees from Lebanon and Jordan return to Syria during the past day

Over 850 refugees return to Syria during the previous day, the Bulletin of the Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring informs on January 1.

A total of 853 refugees including 352 people (150 women and 180 children) from Lebanon and 501 people (150 women and 256 children) from Jordan returns to the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic.

It was also noted in the Bulletin that over the past day territory of 2.2 hectares was cleared of mines and 37 explosive devices were destroyed.

Also, three residential houses, a power station, a kindergarten, and a bakery were restored.

The armed conflict in Syria has continued since 2011. In 2017, the victory over the ISIL terrorist organization (organization banned in Russia) was declared. However, the clashes with militants continue in some areas. The refugees began to return to Syria in large numbers.
