FSB detains spy recruited by Ukraine in Sevastopol

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation detained a Russian citizen who is suspected of treason. The woman who allegedly collected classified military information was detained in the city of Sevastopol, the FSB’s Public Relation Center reports on November 29.

The woman “was recruited by the Ukrainian intelligence services and deliberately collected classified military information following orders of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” informed the FSB press service.

A criminal case under Article 275 of the Criminal Code (High treason) was initiated against her, reported the FSB. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, the FSB detained a Russian soldier in the city of Aksai, Rostov Region, on suspicion of treason. According to Russian intelligence, the detainee collected and reported secret information to Ukrainian intelligence services. The young man allegedly worked as a signaller in the only military unit in the city of Aksai is yet to be confirmed.
