US plans to send armored vehicles to Syria to protect oil fields

The US Central Command plans to send several M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles to the region, a Rossa Primavera News Agency source in Syria reports on November 1.

The intention is to use armored vehicles to protect oil and gas fields in the province of Deir ez-Zor, the report emphasizes.

These armored vehicles have not been previously used outside the US, noted in the report.

On October 26, Russian Ministry of Defense published evidence of US smuggling Syrian oil. Presented satellite images show the scale of production and transportation of Syrian oil resources. According to the Russian military, the US-controlled company Sadcab smuggles the oil, while the oil revenues go to accounts belonging to US private military companies and intelligence organizations.

It’s noteworthy that today the Pentagon confirmed its intentions to maintain control over the Syrian oil fields. According to the US Secretary of Defense, oil revenues are used to finance democratic forces in the region. The secretary also announced the transfer of additional armed forces and supplies to Deir ez-Zor.
