Putin suggests Saudi Arabia buy Russian air defense systems

17.09.2019, Ankara.

Vladimir Putin suggested Saudi Arabia to buy air defense systems from Russia at the summit in Ankara on September 16, RT reports.

It is mentioned in the Holy Quran that violence of any kind is unacceptable unless it is used to protect the fellow men, recalled Putin. “For the defense of one’s fellow men and for the defense of one’s country, we are ready to provide the respective assistance to Saudi Arabia, and all the political leadership of Saudi Arabia has to do is make a wise statesmanly decision,” said the Russian President.

Oil prices began to fluctuate upward after the drone attack on a major oil processing facility in Saudi Arabia. The Russian President suggested that the Saudi authorities purchase powerful long-range air defense systems, such as Russian-made S-300 and S-400 systems.

Similar air defense systems have been deployed in Iran and Syria, and they have been recently delivered to Turkey. According to some trusted sources, Russia will begin mass production of S-500 systems next year.
