Leaders of Russia, Iran, and Turkey to discuss Idlib situation

The leaders of Russia, Iran, and Turkey will discuss the situation in Idlib, Syria, at the summit on Syria to take place on September 16 in Ankara, Assistant to President of Russia Yuri Ushakov said on September 13 at a meeting with journalists.

According to Ushakov, a tense situation maintains near Idlib and in northeastern Syria because of a large number of terrorists.

Also, the leaders of Russia, Iran, and Turkey Vladimir Putin, Hassan Rouhani, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will discuss the aspects of political resolution under UN Security Council Resolution 2254. The participants of the summit will also discuss the completion of launching the Constitutional Committee.

As the Rossa Primavera News Agency previously reported, the 13th round of talks in the Astana format took place in Nur-Sultan on August 1. Russia, Iran, and Turkey were represented by their deputy foreign ministers. A Syrian government delegation, as well as representatives of the armed opposition, participated in the negotiations.
