Ukrainian army opens fire on village near Donetsk People's Republic border

The Ukrainian army used a grenade launcher to attack the outskirts of the Belaya Kamenka village in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on August 20, the DPR Army Command website reports.

According to the statement, the 35th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian army commanded by Nikolay Palas used machine guns and a grenade launcher in its failed provocation attempt against the DPR army near the Belaya Kamenka village.

Information about any victims or damage from the fire remains to be determined.

The DPR Command urges the international community to pay attention to this incident and to make the Ukrainian authorities follow the achieved agreements.

On August 20, 2019, the Ukrainian army used artillery to shell Donetsk.

Since July 21, 2019, a ceasefire has been in force in Donbass. However, the DPR People’s Militia has reported over 200 shelling attacks by the Ukrainian army.
