US and United Kingdom attack Putin’s entourage using fakes

14.07.2019, Moscow.

US and British special services are preparing a disinformation campaign against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s entourage and the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry, RIA Novosti reports on July 13 citing its source in the military.

The disinformation is intended to justify new anti-Russian sanctions. The publication of fake may give impetus to the anti-Russian campaign waged by the Western media and then activate it with the explicit support of special services.

“In the context of provocations no longer concealed, US and British special services’ specialists are making fakes about the Russian leadership”, stressed the source of RIA Novosti in the military-diplomatic circles.

According to the source, the mechanism of escalating anti-Russian sanctions works as follows: fakes are entered into information space through non-commercial organizations, which are related to the US State Department to a greater or lesser extent.

As an example of such non-commercial organizations, which can be used for these purposes, the source named the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).

Then the news is massively disseminated via the media, which are under control of American financiers. It is being done to legitimize fakes and to use them as a pretext to increase sanctions pressure on Russia.

A conversation between Putin and US State Secretary Mike Pompeo took place on May 15. Commenting on the conversation’s content, the President stressed that one can not impose new sanctions against Russia and at the same time ask to make some steps favourable to the US in the international arena.
