The head of the Rostec corporation Sergey Chemezov promised not to sell the newest emerging Russian weapons abroad “at any price”. He stated this on air in the “Actors with Nailya Asker-zade” program on the Russia-1 channel on June 30.

Chemezov said that the newest weapons, in particular, the S-500 air defense missile system, are created for the Russian army. One can sell it only after it is put into service in the Russian army.

We don’t sell the latest, we, first of all, produce it for our army. And after that, when our army adopts the weapon, we are able to sell it for export, in parallel, a new modern weapon is being created,” he said.

The CEO of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, added that Russia is selling S-400 missile systems, while S-500 systems, which differs in range, are already being put into series production.

The S-500 Prometheus, also called the 55R6M Triumphator-M, a Russian anti-aircraft missile system, was developed by the Almaz-Antey JSC as a means of air defense and missile defense, capable of hitting air targets and enemy ballistic missiles. The radius of detection of airborne targets and ballistic missiles is 800 kilometers.

According to expert estimates, the S-500 Prometheus can hit air targets at altitudes up to 200 kilometers, which allows to destroy even low-orbit spacecraft.
