“We want Egypt to remain stable under any circumstances and continue to develop,” said the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry at a regular briefing.

Former Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi died on Monday during the court hearing examining the espionage case in which the former head of state was the main defendant.

Mursi was the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood Islamist organization (organization banned in Russia), who won the 2012 election but was overthrown within a year. As a result, Mursi was accused of a number of criminal cases related to the activity of the Muslim Brotherhood Islamist organization (organization banned in Russia), among which are espionage, the organization of a coup d’etat and attacks on protesters.

Mursi was sentenced to death under several cases, as well as to life sentence under the others, but the cases were constantly being appealed in court.
