Terrorists fired a salvo of six rockets towards the Russian Khmeimim base in Syria on May 19, Zvezda TV channel reports.
Reportedly, militants from the Jabhat al-Nusra (organization banned in Russia) terrorist group committed the attack. The multiple-launch system used in the attack was located in the Idlib de-escalation zone. At the same time, two drones began to approach the Russian base.
The air defense forces timely detected and destroyed all the approaching rockets and both drones. Also, the exact location of the militants’ launching system was established. The Aerospace Forces destroyed it immediately afterwards.
The Syrian government army unilaterally ceased fire in Idlib. However, terrorists occupying the province continue to commit acts of shelling.
