Kurginyan: Ukrainians expect Zelensky to take Crimea, but he can't

20.05.2019, Moscow.

The expectations of the Ukrainian people that President Vladimir Zelensky will supposedly take Crimea back will quickly collapse, since Russia’s readiness to respond to Ukraine makes this impossible, said political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel on May 19.

Kurginyan reminded that Zelensky received a firm reply from the Russian State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin in response to his recent statement about the return of Crimea to Ukraine. “Russia’s responses to Zelensky’s stunts are extremely firm,” – Kurginyan stressed.

He will endure just a few days,” Kurginyan said about the Ukrainian president if “Zelensky even tries to make a move somewhere in the Russian direction.

Therefore, Kurginyan believes that Zelensky will not take Crimea.

And broad groups of people, as rightly said, are waiting for this (the return of Crimea to Ukraine – Rossa Primavera News Agency note). They will be immediately deceived; Zelensky in not capable of doing this,” the political scientist said.

On May 18, on the occasion of commemorating the victims of the Crimean Tatar people genocide day, the Ukrainian President wrote on Facebook that “no matter how long it will take to the return Crimea, we will walk this road it along with the kyryms (Crimean tatars, Rossa Primavera News Agency note).”

On the same day, Volodin replied to Zelensky on Facebook, echoing a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin, “you’ll get the ears off a dead donkey, not Crimea”.
