10.05.2019, Kiev.

Unidentified people committed an attack on passengers who were travelling in buses towards a Victory Day celebration site, Ukrainian politician Aleksandr Vilkul wrote on his Facebook account on May 9.

The attack took place near the city of Krivoy Rog in Dnepropetrovsk region of Ukraine. Unidentified attackers in balaclavas threw stones on the buses, breaking windows, while elderly people and children were among the passengers.

Law enforcement officials are currently working at the scene. Vilkul promised to personally supervise the progress of the police investigation into the incident.

In many Ukrainian cities, a celebratory march “No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten” is taking place on May 9, 2019, which is an equivalent of the Russian “Immortal Regiment” event.

Previously, the Ukrainian police arrested human rights campaigner and social activist Elena Berezhnaya for wearing a St. George Ribbon.
