Venezuela believes US military actions will find no support in EU

01.05.2019, Caracas.

EU countries have said that they would not support any US military operations against Venezuela, the Ambassador of Venezuela to the EU Claudia Salerno Caldera said, RT news agency reports on May 1.

According to the diplomat, the EU countries firmly rejected any military methods of influence from the US at the second meeting of the contact group. The US is more likely to find support somewhere near the Venezuelan borders rather than in Europe, Caldera noted.

She believes that military operations increase risks of population migration to other territories and that the EU has experienced itself the impact of migrants during their intervention into their historic areas of residence. Therefore, the EU is highly concerned with this problem.

Venezuela has started an investigation into another attempt of a coup d’etat, which the opposition forces made with the support of a group of army servicemen stationed at the Altamira distributor.
